Pocket Pantheon

This project was drafted during internship and made to bring a new spark to learning about Greek and Roman myth. The Pocket Pantheon begins to highlight lesser-known gods and heroes so they can have their moment in the sun (sorry Icarus), while still having some more well-known gods.

Ares is the Greek god of bloodlust and courage in war. Some cities have bound statues of him in order to keep him as their protector and ensure their victories in battle.

Circe is an enchantress in Greek mythology and is known for turning her opponents into some form of creature. One such instance is when she turned Odysseus’ men into swines.

Hypnos is a minor Greek god and presides over sleep in mortals and gods. Some say he resides in a cave in the Underworld where the Sun’s rays cannot reach him.

Daphne is a dryad, most known for the story where she is chased by the affections of Apollo. In order to avoid him, she begs her father to help her escape. She is then transformed into a Laurel tree, just in time.

Minerva, the Roman counterpart to Athena, is a goddess of wisdom and battle strategy. She is usually depicted with armor and a spear. It is believed that she is part of the Capitoline Triad with Jupiter and Juno.
